Harucon (Haru – Spring, con – Convention) is a convention revolving around Japanese Animation and Comics (Anime and Manga), Popular Japanese culture and Gaming (Japanese Console and Board games).
The convention is held in response to the Anime and Manga community needs, in order to supply attraction and interaction for Purim (Israeli Costume Holiday).
The convention is held each year since 2008 and with the years became AMAI's main convention, and the biggest of it's kind in Israel.
Harucon events have held many special activities, like: the musicals "Fullmetal Alchemist" (which was the first of his kind in local community!), "Hellsing", "And the Sushi is Free*" and "Thank you for choosing", each and everyone of them produced by community members.
At Harucon 2010 a message to the community from the Voice Actor Minoru Shiraishi was viewed for the first time.
Starting Harucon 2012, New Anime movies are screened in the event, like: "Those who chase after the stars", "Wolf Children: Ame and Yuki" and "Patema Inverted".
Contents of variety of topics is held in each Harucon, revolving Anime, Manga, Cosplay, Gaming and Japanese Culture.
